We'll be back next Thursday at the same time! If you have questions before that, enter them at ajc.com/peachtree or visit the Atlanta Track Club Facebook page.
Question: I registered already -- is there somewhere I can log in to and see my start wave assignment?
Answer: Bib confirmation emails with start wave assignment will go out on June 20 and the number look up will be posted on our website the week of June 23.
Question: I ordered a Peachtree medal this year. When do the medals get sent, or do you have to get them at the expo?
Answer: If you selected to have your medal mailed it was mailed separately from your medal and should arrive soon. If you selected to pick it up, you will pick it up in the Atlanta Track Club booth at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo.
Question: last year my best friend didn't get a number. i did and during the race i ran past a girl who looked to be about 10 years old with a bib in the c wave. isn't there an age requirement for the race? how does a 10 year old get a c wave bib?
Answer: Yes, there is an age requirement for the race, it is 10 years old, so what you've outlined is very possible. She could have been 10 and run a qualifying time to be assigned to wave C. She could also be 10 and have been transferred a number that was assigned in Wave C.
Question: Love the T-shirt, but is there a thought to it being a technical T instead of cotton?
Answer: Tanya, this has come up several times recently. That's a conversation we feel participants need to be a part of, please be sure to fill out your participant survey after this year's race!
Question: Hi there. I submitted a time that would clearly place me in the top seed or subseed corral--and I was placed in the "C" wave. How will mistakes like this be rectified?
Answer: It's possible that your time could not be verified or an error occurred. These situations do happen in wave placement and if it is an error on our end we correct it and reissue a wave placement. These requests and questions can be sent directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Question: I'm registered for the race (my first!), and I see people posting that they've already gotten their bibs. I haven't. Was I supposed to already?
Answer: If you requested to have it mailed you should receive it by June 20. Numbers are in the mail but come out in waves. If you did not select to receive it by mail, you can pick it up at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo on July 2 & 3.
Question: What is a Peachtree qualifier. I see all the time races claiming to be, but when I registered none were listed to get my time. How do I know I'm running a qualifying race?
Answer: A qualifying time for the AJC Peachtree Road Race is a time submitted from any USATF certified course. For the 2014 race, that time would need to be from Jan. 1 2012 or later to be eligible for a qualifying time.
Question: Regarding the bib transfer system. Will the new purchaser of the bib stay in the start wave to which the original purchaser was assigned? Or will the new purchaser be re-seeded to the start wave for which s/he qualifies?
Answer: Great question! The new purchaser will stay in the start wave that the number is assigned. There will be no re-seeding of numbers in the transfer system.
Question: When will the race number lookup be available?
Answer: Race number bib confirmation emails will be sent out June 20. The look up function will be available on peachtreeroadrace.org beginning the week of June 23.
FROM MARK VIA FACEBOOK: I have a friend who wants to run in the race this year. What happened to the transfer system?
Question: I can't remember if I requested by bib number for mail or pickup, how can I check?
Answer: This is something that we can verify for you. Please email email@example.com to verify.
Question: Is there anyway to still try and get in to register?
Answer: Several sponsors of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will be holding contests and number giveaways at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo on July 2 & 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Question: I submitted a time that placed me in corral E however, I received a bib with corral G. This doesn't appear to be an isolated incident. Anyway to get this corrected?
Answer: Start wave standards are determined based off the range of qualifying times that were submitted during registration. During the verification and assignment process, it may be necessary to adjust the standards from the previous year in order to accommodate the volume of runners and physical space allotted in each start wave.
FROM JILL VIA FACEBOOK: Is there anyway to still try and get in to register?
FROM MICHAEL VIA FACEBOOK: I received my race packet with race bib and flyers. Anything else I will need before race? Also, I paid extra for this year's commemorative medal. When/where do I claim it?
Question: I listed the wrong qualifying time by a few seconds, how do I get it changed?
Answer: Once a qualifying time has been entered into your lottery application, it cannot be changed.
Question: Are we able to pick up registered family members race numbers for them at the expo?
Answer: If you are unable to pick up your race number at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo, your number may be picked up by a third party. The person picking up your race number will need to have the following items with them in order to pick up your number for you:
- Copy of your ID (see above for acceptable forms of ID).
- Copy of your race number confirmation.
Question: Can you still participate in the 10K Run if you do not get your number or if you are not chosen by lottery?
Answer: No, you must have a race number to participate in the event. Only participants with race numbers will be permitted in start waves and on the course.
Question: It's my 12th consecutive race. Does that guarantee a slot in the lottery?
Answer: Special consideration will be given to “streakers” – those who have participated in 10 or more Peachtrees – when they register through the online lottery and don't get in. Please enter the lottery as usual, if you are not selected please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Question: My husband and I want to run together - it'll be our first time entering the race. Should we fill out two individual applications or should we apply as a group of two?
Answer: If one of you would still want to participate even if the other one didn't get in, then you could register as individuals. If you only want to run together or not run at all, enter as a group. To guarantee you both have a race number, consider purchasing a Kilometer Kids charity number. The details are below at peachtreeroadrace.org.
Kelli- You can find race times prior to 2010 at peachtreeroadrace.org.
We do not offer bag check for this event as it is a summer event with minimal clothing and gear and the demand for a bag check from participants is not great. We encourage you to pack light and bring only what you need for the run.
Question: I see that there is an additional charge for a commemorative t-shirt. Does this mean that you no longer receive a t-shirt at the finish? Do I have to pay extra for a shirt?
Answer: The commemorative shirt is an additional item available for purchase at the time of registration. You will still receive the coveted Finisher shirt as you cross the finish line the day of the event.
Question: What is a qualifying race?
Answer: Any USATF certified course which took place from January 1, 2012 to March 22, 2014.
Pat, that's a great question! You will still need to register for this year's event. Please email email@example.com and we will be happy to assist you.
