No sir!!!! That's what all the cutting was about last year. Draft, development and moderately price free agents is their formula.
No, he's got a lot of them right. He's way over 30 percent. He's just whiffed on the lines . . . so far.
DANNY -- Are the Falcons issues a result of bad personnel in key positions or coaching breakdowns (bad play calling and schemes)?
LEDBETTER – Youth, injuries and bad personnel. Coaching and schemes are fine. Youth -- you don't flip 36 percent of your roster and think everything is going to be the same. There are going to be some growing pains. And in the injuries and a poor line = 2-9.
JOHN IN ATLANTA -- Looking forward to the offseason draft, would you select Clowney or Matthews for the Falcons (assuming still available)? Or would you take someone else?
LEDBETTER – I would take Matthews. Clowney takes plays off. That scares me.
They thought they were smarter than everybody else and could scheme around the deficiencies apparently.
I don't think the OC is going anywhere. He's a Coryell guy.Master of the Boise State attack. Nothing wrong with the plays that a blocking line couldn't fix. They're out there working miracles each week trying to function behind that blocking.
Ledbetter -- No, last year that CBs was No. 1 priority. 2011, they went OL with Konz and Holmes. Both has struggled.
JOSHUA D -- Do you feel that Roddy White should have played this season? He obviously is not 100% and those extra snaps could have been used to help develop are young receiving corps.
LEDBETTER – He should not have been playing at the beginning of the year with a high ankle sprain. It’s clear he still can’t get open. He had to break off his route to get open on that key third down on the last drive. Harry would have got those snaps.
BGT -- No need to win any more games this year. That will only hurt their upcoming draft. We need Clowney for the defense and a top o-line tackle. The higher the draft pick, the best chance to get both with the 1st and 2nd round picks.
LEDBETTER – You never play to lose, but I understand you’re thinking.
803KINDAGUY -- Will the Falcons look at addressing the lack of pass rush or replacing Gonzalez at TE first in the draft?
LEDBETTER – Neither. Offensive line is the No. 1 priority. They need Jacob Matthews.
ROBERT BARRON -- Why can't the Falcons offensive line pass block and protect Matt Ryan? Who is responsible?
LEDBETTER – Ultimately, the players are responsible. You have to win your battles. If they are not good enough to do that, then the personnel department made some mistakes and need to correct them.
ERIC -- when will the falcons change their uniforms???
LEDBETTER – I don’t know. Uniforms don’t win games.
Hello folks. We have a bunch of questions today. I'm going to try to answers them ALL!!! Let's go!!!
Could be a serious, but correctable issue.
Baker. Contract is too back. Stuck with him. He's fine when healthy.
Yes, but it can be a quick rebuild/turnaround because they have the quarterb
ack and some pieces.
They have plenty character. Would love some more nastiess though. MUCH MORE NASTINESS!!!
Babs and Grady Jackson in his prime would be awesome. But Babs is 32 right now. Contract is up at the end of the year.
They are out there scrappy. Worrilow is making some tackles, but no impact plays. He has just one tackle for a loss. Bartu is rugged, but gets lost in coverage sometimes. Both will be fine.
