@FalconsBar_CHI -- Given how much SJax (even Michael Turner) is missed in the red zone, do the Falcons change the running scheme or rely more heavily on the pass inside the 20?
LEDBETTER: I say power it up and move some folks out of the way. Give the ball to Snelling behind Hawley and Dimarco.
ROBERT: Without an effective running game, what is your predicted Falcons' season record? What will be TD's draft priorities next year?
LEDBETTER: 10-6 looks attainable. Offensive linemen and running back.
Carter -- I will ask. You saw two trades for linemen this week. The price didn't see too high. I think they are giving their draft picks the benefit of the doubt.
MARK: "How are the Falcons addressing red zone issues on offense? And where are those issues originating (play-calling, execution, reads, routes)?
Separate question -- where is Chase Coffman? With Roddy out (and he is out even if he is playing because he is not producing anything) why arent the Falcons using more two TE sets?"
LEDBETTER 1: Execution (two missed blocked on scree to Julio on first series); Tony covered like a blanket (play calling) – Both.
LEDBETTER 2: They prefer running out of three wide receiver sets. Double tights is a run formation. They want to throw.
LEDBETTER - That is mean Richard!
RICHARD - Does Mike Smith need some help figuring out clock management and 4th down decisions? If so, there are plenty of 8-year-old Madden verterans who would do a better job.
LEDBETTER -- You see that happen with Gaither and Jamar Chaney.
Section 318 -- Thanks. I remember him saying before the season started that he was holding back some salary cap room to address gaps from injuries/performance. Any idea when we might see that happen?
ABE THE FAN: Yes! Atlanta Falcons fans need to get a grip. We've tried the 12-4 route and got waxed. I'll take 10-6 and a team that gets hot in the playoffs. We have the talent. We've just gotta get on the same page and get our confidence back. BE A REAL FAN ATLANTA! I will be there Monday night and I AM ALL IN!!!
LEDBETTER: Don’t leave early. Real fans stay for the entire game.
Go Falcons -- I believe that ship has sailed.
Section -- Looks like he. He's being developed to be the long-term backup. I asked TD about Freeman yesterday. He was noncommital. He seems to like his guy, Davis.
TL PARKER: "It seems like the Falcons haven’t really adjusted their offensive game plan with regards to passing since losing SJax. They are certainly passing more but appear to be running more slow developing routes than the quick hits that they would need to mitigate the lack of a run game and poor pass protection.
What is going on?"
STONO GUY: I've been an Atlanta Falcons fan since 1977.....Falcons vs Vikings....Saw Fran Tarkenton...The Falcons have had ALOT worse teams than this...for sure! Cut them some slack....it's early!. GO FALCONS!!!!!
LEDBETTER: Astute observation
LEDBETTER: They are throwing a lot of quick hitting routes. Ryan is throwing in under 2 seconds on most plays.
GARY: Teams normally take on the personality of the head coach. With that being said do the Falcons need a coach with a more aggressive approach? See Sean Payton for example.
LEDBETTER: They are on an unprecedented string of winning. The coaching has something to do with that.
Greg -- His finger prints are all over the defense. He respects Nolan's implementation.
Casey -- He's on crutches still. It's not a mystery injury. He has a sprained right foot. He is not walking around fine.
MattyNice -- He's going to try to play? He was at practice yesterday and was getting ready today.
Bairet -- Yes, they'll go back to Jackson when he's 100 percent.
BILLY BOB: Last year they were always criticized for barely winning games, this year they are criticized for barley loosing games. A totally banged up team that is not getting blow out. A lot of football left. Don't change anything.
LEDBETTER: Astute observation
KIM ROBINSON: "Why don't the Falcons work on their ""Red Zone"" offense. We lose more games because of us unable to get into end zone. I am a disappointed season ticket holder. - Why aren't season ticket holders given choices to or not to purchase Pre-Season tickets."
LEDBETTER: They are working on the red zone offense. Ditching some plays. Adding others. That's a fair question on the preseason game.
Jport7uga -- I think you let him rest this week. They'll need him after the buy week.
Walt -- He plays tackle not. Not really a speed rusher.
ROGER: Coach Smith need to start helping call the plays for Matt Ryans, Matt must hit the open man, & stop over throwing the open man.
LEDBETTER: Better protection for Matt Ryan would help him hit the open man.
DENVERFALCONS: I am going to start with the premise that the Falcons lack the killer instinct to ever be champions. Why is this? Who is responsible? and how does this get changed?
LEDBETTER: I don't buy that premise. They've won too many games in the fourth quarter. I think they are young and injured this year.
DUDE: Are the Falcons going to rely more on the run or pass Monday night?
LEDBETTER: I don’t think so
woo-woo -- this is left over from last week I think.
Lovell -- Worrilow is hurt, too. Look for Bartu, Nicholas and Gaither on Sunday.
JamesDean71 -- I think so, but coaches keep saying in-game adjustments are over-rated as they point to execution (players).
Casey -- You are right. Next 4 are winnable games. If they run the table they'll be 5-3 going into the Seattle game
Had to post this little news from Roddy. He played too much against New England and is not 100 percent.
FLOWERY BRANCH --- Falcons wide receiver Roddy White. suffered a set back in his recovery from his high ankle sprain.
He played his most action of the season against New England. He played 74 of 76 (97 percent) of the offensive snaps.
“Yeah, and I learned a very valuable lesson from that,” White said. “I ain’t where I need to be yet.”
Asked if he was 100 percent, White said, “I don’t know. I’ll tell you after the bye week.”
White has just 10 catches for 84 yards and no touchdowns this season. He suffered the high ankle sprain against the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 15.
“I’ve got to get right,” White said. “The bye week is coming at really, really good time. No vacation. No time off for Roddy. No cruising. No, none of that. I’ll be cruising right here in the training room.”
