OK, folks. Thanks for your patronage and your questions. It has been a fun season, at least Mailbag-wise.
I'm sure the Braves would be happy to keep paying Heyward. Question is, how much is he worth?
Maybe it could. But Uggla's still on the books. And so is B.J.
So sabermetricians are stupid? I don't agree. They're pretty smart folks. What I'm saying is that some things are unknowable. Nobody would sign B.J. Upton for 75 cents today. But this is now.
It's not much of one, is it?
This is why sports are fun.
I've heard the same. But I've never quite believed it.
They could. But that's a bunch of moving parts.
Because he's the best right fielder in baseball. He wouldn't be the best center fielder. But I would have kept him leading off, especially since his power has apparently diminished.
Don't know. Hitting coach is a tough one to project. Pitching coaches are a bit easier. Hitting depends more on the hitter than the coach. But a good hitting coach never hurts.
His record is pretty darn good, this September aside.
That's in the Bobby Cox mode. "We hit it hard but right at people." While the other team got a bunch of bleeders and bloopers. It would drive me crazy.
No. But I'm not sure that's an accurate description. How many promoted Braves are outright failures?
Not sure about that. I think Gosselin has become the leading candidate.
I think Chris Johnson should be platooned.
I think there's a lingering question about La Stella's defense. And his speed, or the lack thereof. But that's just me speculating.
